I would recommend these additions so that we don't have to go on a wild goose chase attempting to reset TV in hopes of restoring Airplay functionalities. My only complaint is that Samsung Support does not state the minimum operating systems clearly in its Airplay support article ( ). The minimum MacOS and iOS required for Airplay 2 to work with the Samsung TV is (in-depth changes in the links copied):-Īfter updating my MacOS to 10.14.5, Samsung TV appeared on my screen mirroring options immediately. Older MacOS and iOS would not be able to see the TV as its destination. It is since then that I get a black screen on the TV when connected via AirPlay - always use 'Mirror Built-in' but same with 'Mirror Apple TV' and 'use as a Separate Display'. Yesterday my MacBook Pro shut down and rebooted by itself. As the new function requires new Airplay 2 functionalities. I have the same problem with my Macbook Pro, but not with iPad. From here, select your specific TV and wait for the device to connect. If you are using a Mac to connect to AirPlay on your Samsung TV, go to the menu bar of your Mac where you will find the AirPlay status. The reason why the Samsung TV does not appear as an airplay destination is likely because of firmware issues. You will then select your specific Samsung TV to mirror the picture and you should then be connected and see the image mirrored. ![]() Make sure that both your iOS device and Samsung TV are connected to the same internet connection. ![]() Just got off the phone with Samsung Support.
